Why should I remove EXIF data before posting pictures online?

Photos taken by smartphones and digital cameras frequently store your exact GPS home or work address, camera serial numbers, and capture timestamps in the EXIF header. Removing this prevents stalking and privacy leaks.

Are my photos uploaded to a server to scrub EXIF?

No. The entire metadata stripping process happens strictly inside your browser. No files are ever sent to any remote server.
